The historic house is being lovingly restored and preserved to create a variety of accommodations, ranging from self catering cottages, a self contained apartment within the main house, as well as rooms on a bed and breakfast, or bed only basis. All to provide guests with the most relaxing holiday or short break, certain to whisk you away from the pressures of 21st Century living. Though WiFi internet connection is available for those needed to keep in touch with the outside world.

Self Catering Cottage Accommodation

Self catering cottage accommodation is available throughout the year including the two large double bedrooms within the main house, which are let on a bed and breakfast basis, for weekends only, or alternatively as additional rooms in conjunction with the cottages at any time.

Suitable for large or small groups

The Coach House & Stables block will easily accommodate up to 12, or can be divided to provide a more intimate accommodation for just 2, whilst the Cottage sleeps up to 6.

Guests may wander around the gardens, which are a picture in the spring. Lawns bordered by flowering shrubs, rhododendrons, azaleas and an abundance of wildlife all around, make Highercombe a haven of peace and tranquillity at any time of the year.

Highercombe is just 900 yards from the wild open Exmoor, with miles of footpaths and bridleways descending into picturesque villages and wooded coombes. Tarr Steps, an ancient causeway across the river Barle, is only 2½ miles away, and several fine inns serve excellent food at lunchtimes and in the evenings.

Dulverton lies just 2 ½ miles to the south, with all amenities and shops, including the Exmoor National Park Information Office and visitors centre. The area is ideal for walking, riding, fishing, all country sporting pursuits and has something to interest everyone.
